PITI (Principal, Interest, Taxes, Insurance)

The four components of a standard mortgage payment. Principal reduces the loan balance. Interest is the lender’s charge for borrowing. Taxes (property tax) and Insurance (homeowner’s and possibly flood/wind) are often escrowed by the lender. In Florida, add flood insurance and possibly wind mitigation to get PITIA.
